Scam And Fraud

Basically i am referring to an individual or company that invite you to a sales presentation and induce you to participate in their programme by giving free holiday or showing how much money you can make when you join them.
I have been to many of this presentation mainly from 'Time Sharing' programme , MLM company and many more. Some of them are genuine offering 1-2 night free stay when you complete their sales presentation on 'Time Sharing' programme and answer a few questionnaire. After attending a couple of times , i decided to join one of them which gave a good offer & return.
An initial payment was made as a deposit and the balance of payment are split into 12-18 payments and this allows me to enjoy some of the benefits which included free stay in their affiliates resort worldwide.
Well i did not manage to utilize it , some how or rather i was really busy with work , family and etc. End up making a couple of payments and eventually i stop paying and ask for a refund from the company. After talking to them for numerous time , my request was not entertained.

Weeks later someone called up and counter offer me with their proposal , i got irritated and didn't bother about it. I treated it as a bad investment or perhaps bad debts and live goes on.
I have decided to not attend any of the these 'Time Sharing' presentation anymore no matter how lucrative is the offer and incentives until today. No doubt there are many calls from them offering free stay , free stuff..  i just have to reject them immediately over the phone.

Opportunity knocks , dad told me that there is a great health product that he is convinced and enrolled me to take a good look. Was there at 8 am on one fine Saturday morning , the centre was well decorated , furnished and pack with new comers. After a long queue for registration , they tuck me in a conference room with mostly new comers and leaders , a welcome message by group leaders which is energetic and convincing.
We break for lunch at 12 noon and proceed to another session at 1 pm , i was very curious on the product but the product presentation is schedule at 4pm.
Without much choice i attended another round of presentation and sales talk by some leaders. I kept looking at my watch and waited till 4pm , hurray.. time for product presentation!! But presentation only starts after tea break , am getting very impatience by this time. After waiting that long , i told my self ..might as well wait and see what is this product all about. No sign of product until we left the room and adjourned to reception area. A thank you message from the group and we left the building. Was so tired and totally forgotten about the product!!

Only get to see the product a week later when dad told me that he paid on behalf of me and hope that i can enroll a few people. He paid Rm 4k++ with his credit card for enrolling me into the session , sales kit and the product "Magnetic Mattress" , investment paid and he enrolled a few more people. I chipped in 1 or 2 of my friends but they didn't signed up due to lack of finance. I couldn't find time , so i will just refer and my dad will bring them over. Few weeks later he showed me a fat pay check from the company and enrolled my younger brother and mum too.
He has been very active for a few months , until one bad news arrived.
The company is in trouble... :)
Closed down and there goes our investment... all our down lines keep calling , wanted us to refund their monies and scolded us for referring them. We felt cheated and what is left is the product and a bad investment of approximately RM 40k...
** This is a very well planned company , with renovation and interior decor cost more than 1 million ringgit and employ many speakers , top MLM leaders to start off and made tons of money before shutting down.

Spring Cleaning

The 1st day of Chinese New Year is 10 days from today, its quite a grand celebration here in Malaysia. No doubt we are a multiracial country with malay being the majority followed by chinese, indian, punjabi, kadazan, iban, orang asli, eurasian and many more.
We lived in a peaceful environment and have many celebrations mainly Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Hari Raya Haji celebrated among Malaysian malay community, Deepavali , Thaipusam celebrated among the Indian community, Christmas, Chinese New Year and many more.
The chinese community is busy preparing the new year with many of them baking cookies, cakes, shopping for new clothes,shoes and etc. But one main thing that all chinese community will do before this celebration is 'spring cleaning'. Its was belief that this will bring them good luck and prosperity in the coming year.

So over the weekend i was busy 'spring cleaning' !! sorting out unwanted item do dispose and recycle what ever is possible. Some old unused items which is in good condition are be placed at "Recycle booth" and will be picked up by charity house volunteers.
Sorting unwanted items was part of the idea to 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle', paper made up most of it with old megazines, old exercise books, printed materials like brochures and many more.
While i was unpacking some boxes to see the contents inside i opened an old box which was kept untouch for almost 5 years. Was surprised to see some of my old collections such as text books, photos and smaller decorative items. Here i found 3 valuable items which cost me RM2,400.00 each, it is the Lampe Berger starter pack which is still new and used.

I admit that i was greedy as the investment return that they showed was very much lucrative than my ID business, i was very wrong and eventually the company closed down in which i only managed to sell some package to my friend and relatives but i ended up having 3 of the lamp kept inside the old box.

Now i have decided to put in it on sale, have not determined the selling price and hope that there is a good offer as they are no longer in production.

How Did We Started?

I started in the Interior Design field specializing in design & built way back 1996 with a business partner operating from eateries stall for few months before we gradually rented a premise and start employing staffs. We found a premise in an industrial area with a rental of RM1,000.00 per month. Its a 1.5 storey building with manufacturing facility and a small office above it.

That gave us an idea of manufacturing our own designed custom made furniture thus we brainstormed and finally within a month we are set. Luck was on our side , we manage to source used machinery and hand tools from a close friend. With the appointment of a Chief carpenter who handles machinery and manpower finally we are ready to pump in more jobs which was outsourced previously.

Everything was really new to us , i am the only one who has an exposure to manufacturing from a previous work place therefore my partner has to really pick up things very quickly otherwise i will be working round the clock. We used to spend an average of 12-15 hours work daily from marketing , sales , awarding of tender to contractors , site supervision , ordering of raw materials for our factory , drafting and drawing and etc. We were young , energetic and managed to secured almost 100-150k job monthly for our factory and in no time we were looking for expansion and additional staff for ID works.

Great News!! Weeding Out illegal Gambling

Saw this newspaper article on New Strait Times today and hope that the authority will go all out to weed illegal gambling outlets in Malaysia. These outlets are not only mushrooming in the state of Selangor but all over Malaysian states.
From my observation there a plenty of them mainly internet cafe's operating from shop houses or even from apartments targeting the surrounding population. Not only adults are participating in these outlets, foreign workers are also pretty active and believe me i have seen some secondary school boys there too.
Aluminium structure partitions and heavily tinted glass are used at shop front and some outlets has a small stalls selling drinks and food right in front of these shop or near to the entrance of the outlets which provide an additional service the the patrons and on the other hand it could serve as a surveillance to the operator.
Its really sad to see that only now the authority is taking stern actions on these operators but "late is better than never"

Its been a really hot day today and the best part is the car air conditioning is not working properly. Well , it feels  like i am in a sauna room travelling from one destination to another.

Perhaps its time to change a new car!! 

But i think the timing is not pretty right as we are facing "price hikes" in many areas. Should just stick to this old car and maintain it regularly.

Been watching very closely on what ever that i am spending.. budget.. budget..budget

We have just passed our first week of the year and many of us are looking forward and preparing for chinese new year which falls on the 31st of January 2014.
